January 1, 2012
I haven’t blogged in a while. Not for a lack of topics. Or even time, for that matter—yes, time is always in short supply, but I could prioritize blogging if I really wanted to.
I’ve actually had much to say because I’ve been processing a ton lately. It just felt best to process internally (shocker)…for the moment. As a long-standing ‘E’ (of Myers Briggs fame), we all know that processing internally doesn’t come naturally for the kid. So that should give you an indication of how much processing we’re talking…
Sooooo, it’s January 1st. New Year’s Day. And you’re probably thinking it’s kinda clichéd to blog and reflect today, huh?
I concur.
Whatevs. Kick rocks.
(ok, ok, not really, friends)
I won’t reflect extensively. And, knowing me, I may not blog again until February (for a host of reasons). But for the time being…
In 2011 I:
• got married
• was promoted to Director of Marketing at a hotel/casino
• experienced the most conflict in a six month period in my adult life (personally and professionally)
• endured the most challenge…and growth…in my professional career to date
• turned 35
• and a slew of other things I am probably not remembering/not choosing to share (just kidding…maybe)
In 2012 I am:
• figuring out if/how this commuter marriage thing works (so much more to this, folks…)
• continuing to master “playing in the big leagues” (as a trusted mentor referred to it recently)
• reconnecting w/God and seeking the original path of purpose (thank God for GPS systems that recalculate even if/when you go off course)
• continuing to figure out what I want to be when I grow up (or, rather, “listening to my life” and working on the courage to follow the path)
• seeking this mythical concept thing about which I’ve heard folks talk called “work/life balance” (something about time w/friends…AND family? What is this??? Akin to Loch Ness?)
• exploring my life-long interest in photography (thanks for the Nikon D5100, husband)
• and a slew of other things I am probably not remembering/not choosing to share (just kidding…maybe)
Will leave you w/a few pics (a la an abbreviated year in review).
Until…
