Yesterday, I attended the viewing of a co-worker who passed away on Saturday after a “valiant and very brief battle with cancer”. It all happened so quickly I haven’t fully wrapped my mind around it. He was young, well-liked, faithful, and balanced. I am still at a loss for words to describe the impact. So I’m calling for reinforcements…
Excerpt of memo from regional president:
Life is precious and when we discover the untimely passing of someone close to us – whether it’s a relative, friend or a beloved member of our team – we join together to share our grief, thoughts and prayers for those left behind…
A man of great integrity and an innovator with his craft, —- also was a tireless advocate for his community, evidenced by his consistent volunteerism with our HERO programs and involvement with his church. But most important, — was a kind-hearted soul who was selflessly devoted to his family, his friends, and his team. His loss will be mourned by many.
Memory card at the church that said the following:
The time has come for me
to leave this life. I have
fought the good fight.
I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me
the crown of righteousness
which the Lord, the righteous judge,
will award to me on that day.

(2 Timothy 4:6-8)
My reminders/questions for the week:
- Make the most out of each and every day
- Stop putting off for tomorrow…end of cliché
- Be a good steward over your time and resources (stop taking them for granted)
- What am I doing dailyto move towards my hopes/dreams/goals/ambitions?
- What am I doing to benefit others?
- What am I doing to contribute to society
- When it’s all said and done, will I be able to proclaim that I finished the race AND kept the faith?
