It has been a full week.
(LOL-guess that answers THAT question, huh? See previous post)
A full week of mindless vegging. Catching up on movies, YouTube, and Facebook. Blockbuster has been my friend (“Hancock” was hilarious; really enjoyed “21”…for a few reasons…). And HGTV—inspiring.
Generally, I can’t sit still long enough to commit to watching TV so, even before Darden, I didn’t veg much. After the last four months, however, I welcomed the reprieve. I welcomed not waking up at 6:30 am every morning. I welcomed not analyzing cases. I welcomed not using intellectual horsepower for 16 hours a day. I welcomed stillness.
Now, I’m over it. I’ve had just about all of the stillness I can take.
And, don’t tell anyone, but…I miss school (ssshhhhhh).
I miss my classmates. I miss First Coffee. I miss…using intellectual horsepower.
Perhaps not for 16 hours a day, but for more than the hour a day I’ve averaged the past week (the collective hour it takes for me to decide what I’m having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and what movie I’m watching that day).
So, I’m ready to re-engage.
Ready to pick up where I left off after the Business Concept Competition and start building my business plan.
Ready to research and establish a Charlottesville community project.
Ready to map out a plan for my research goals around women and leadership.
Ready to start preparing for my summer experience.
So…so long Will & Grace marathons (ok…maybe that’s not leaving—love Will & Grace!).
Woohoo! What a way to engage the IHP (intellectual hp – hey what’s bschool education worth if you can’t devise your own important-sounding-word)!
I kind of got sick of watching FRIENDS – I am, once again, in a position to recite most of the dialogues in my sleep! I am hoping to watch Slumdog… tonight.
And then it’s back to the real world, which for me right now is the bad J word – job-search.
I’ve been completely lazy since Saturday when I returned home. It’s been nice, but, I FEEL lazy. Not good at all! Merry Christmas and miss you lots girlie! ;D
