So, in keeping with this time-tested principle, allow me to provide a more balanced view of the “glamorous gaming life”:
- While every one of my fabulous friends were enjoying 4th of July BBQs, parties, firework displays, trips to MV, etc. this past holiday weekend, I was working until after 2 am both Friday and Saturday
- Part of my evening entails loading and pushing a bellman cart w/boxes of t-shirts, cases of iPods, raffle tickets, and random things like ping pong balls
- Social life? ¿qué?
- My only day off is Sunday (half of which I spend recovering, the other half I spend doing the obligatory hair and nail-salon visits)
-
I spent several hours today on my knees—in a dress, no less! (on carpet…the one day I didn’t wear nylons…talk about rug burns!)
-
Focus people (*smile*)! Explanations: I was putting together poster boards that displayed six weeks’ worth of marketing collateral (direct mail pieces) for all of our brands in the AC market. Nothing like a good ‘ole fashioned high school art project!
In addition to all of the above, I am a self-proclaimed, recovering (yeah right) workaholic. Quite a precarious ingredient in an industry that’s 24 x 7: there’s always work to be done. If you don’t erect boundaries…if you don’t personally hold yourself accountable to create some semblance of balance, you can let it all consume you.
But…ALL OF THAT SAID…
I wouldn’t trade it in for the world.
You can keep your TPS Reports.

Sounds like Second Year will feel like a vacation for you!
It's ok… we still have one year left!!! Happy to hear the summer is going well. Miss you. xoxo 🙂
Hey JulyDream, hope your summer is going well. I saw Management Leadership for Tomorrow listed on your weblog. Are you an MLT alum? I am an alum too, just finished about a month ago and am head off to school this fall. Not too many of us with blogs though.
Take it easy!

@ Jeremy: yes, I'm an MLT alum. Congrats on finishing MLT and getting into Kellogg. Great program, of course. Enjoy your summer and let's keep in touch!
Thanks Jackie! And definitely will be. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
By the way, I just blogrolled you. Hope that's cool. Enjoy the end of your summer !
