Inspired by the recent WSJ article about effective networking, NAWMBA just kicked off a new initiative titled “The Wednesday 10”.
Using the powerful example set by the legendary and influential leaders of “The Wednesday 10”, this new series is designed to foster networking relationships that will expand beyond our time at Darden. The events will spark dialogue that moves past the surface, allows us to truly learn from each other’s perspectives and experiences, and develop deeper connections while doing so. Facilitated by women faculty members, the events will include both faculty and current NAWMBA members. It will also include alumnae and executives from MBAE (MBA for Executives) where possible. In keeping with the spirit of the original “Wednesday 10”, the number of attendees is limited to foster an intimate conversation.
Today was the first event (of four for the rest of the semester).
I’m really excited about how it turned out. Our topic was “What’s Next? Picking Your First Job after Darden. What are the implications”. However, as these things go, we covered a range of relevant topics that were top of mind for the attendees and shared with each other related experiences and perspectives (and lessons learned). Insight from the two faculty members present was invaluable; it was certainly refreshing to engage with women faculty on this level.
Next up? “Can You Really Have it All”. February 24th. Let’s keep it going…
