It’s Olympics season! What a great time to be motivated and inspired by the passion, dedication, commitment, and excellence of Olympic athletes. Speaking of passion, per my previous posts (see this, this or this), I am still digging deep and working on (re) figuring out about what I am mostpassionate. The answer to that question absolutely informs the “what do I want to be when I grow up now?” question.
As I’ve mentioned previously, you (I) can find clues to that answer in a familiar place: childhood. When you were an eight year old, to what did you aspire? In what ways did you outperform your peers? About what did you daydream the most? What ability came naturally to you? Often times, we let “life get in the way” and we lose sight of the simple. We get too smart for our own good, too exposed for our own good, too experienced for our own good. However, that thing that you were called to do can be found in the “little you.”
That said…
Recently, I stumbled on some old school portraits of me. Talk about a blast from the past! Looking at them took me back…to that eight, nine, ten year old little girl who absolutely believed she could rule the world. Talk about inspiring!
