Today is the first day back to school after the Thanksgiving holiday. I left Charlottesville on Tuesday afternoon heading north—first stop was NJ for a full day of interviews on Wednesday. Final stop was NYC Wednesday night.
More on the interviews and career update later (major update, though, so stay tuned)…
Thanksgiving holiday went by so quickly! I slept and ate all day Thursday. Friday, I ran errands (including getting my hair done by my NYC stylist—yes!) and caught up with a few friends. Saturday, I attended a wedding of one of my Darden classmates (and she was a gorgeous bride!!). Sunday, I spent 11+ hours in holiday traffic driving back to Virginia from NYC (pain you could not imagine).
And there went my holiday.
It felt great to be in NYC for a few days—my first trip back since leaving in July (can you believe that?).
Now, we are back to life…back to reality here in Cville.
In addition to finishing up our last week of classes, most students are running around frantically trying to complete cover letters in time for the December 5th Career Development Center deadline.
Incidentally, December 5th is the same day as the Annual Holiday Ball / Building Goodness in April Auction (aka “The Darden Prom”).
And, oh yeah, incidentally, December 5th is a certain Brooklyn-bred, Darden Blogger’s birthday….eh mmm.
So—we are in the homestretch. Last week of classes, last week to get cover letters and resumes in, last week to prepare for finals prior to next week.
Much like this post, I’m all over the place. Need to reign it all in and focus for the next two weeks in the quarter.
And then?
Then I will have completed my first semester as a first year Darden student.
Sounds good, doesn’t it?
Lots to do between now and that milestone, my friend. Lots to do.
Stay tuned for Darden Prom update and pics! (I’m really looking forward to it—who doesn’t love to play dress up!?)
Now that I’ve broken just about every grammatical and structural rule known to man in this post (and both Strunk and White are turning over in their graves), I’m off to proof-read cover letters for some classmates.
(no really, I am…)
