I just left a meeting that was spearheaded by Darden’s Outreach team. It was a planning meeting to discuss ways Darden can respond to the tragedy in Haiti. It was a great discussion. We have an action plan for a short-term response and we’re taking steps to explore a more long-term response. It’s encouraging to see so many students interested in getting involved (the leaders of outreach here at Darden have been fielding tons of inquiries since last week). The real key will be reigning folks in (me included) and focusing our ideas and our resources to ensure we can make the most impact. However, this is just in terms of a community response. It’s clear that a lot of people have taken–and will continue to take–personal measures to respond. Very encouraging, Darden. Very encouraging.
