It’s the day after the day after Election Day. And, to be honest, it all still feels surreal.
I’ve been uncharacteristically quiet since Election Night—and that’s because I’m still speechless. Anything I say now won’t be different than what most others have already said on the election: “didn’t think I would see it in my lifetime”, “only in America”, “the possibilities are endless”, etc. So, I won’t state the obvious.
What I will say is that it was great to spend that evening in the company of my Darden family. What I will say is that it is great to know that I’m part of a diverse institution where everyone is valued.
What I will say is that I’m glad that I was in the state of Virginia during this historic election and happy to know that my vote counted.
And finally, what I will say is that I’m blessed to be alive during this season of historic change and I’m looking forward to playing my part in continued progress.
Signing off,
-Still Speechless

J, you shouldn’t allow anonymous comments on your blog. If someone has something to say then they should have enough guts to say it under their own name and not hide behind their computer screen. I’m so tired of right-wing propaganda. We already live in a “socialist” country – what do people think welfare programs and health insurance are? Instead of being brainwashed by neo-con fear mongering messages why don’t people do a little research and read both sides of the argument and form their own opinions? Ugh.
